How dangerous are traffic stops for police officers?

From my perspective, traffic stops are fraught with danger for police officers. The unpredictability of each stop combined with the potential for violent encounters puts officers at risk. The anxiety of not knowing the intentions of the driver or passengers, possible presence of weapons, and the vulnerability of being exposed on the road contribute to the peril. Traffic stops have indeed become one of the leading circumstances where officers are fatally shot. Hence, it's clear that traffic stops pose a significant threat to the safety of our police officers.
